Scotstoun Conservation Area Residents Association (SCARA) INCOME AND EXPENDITURE - Year ended 31st March 2025 INCOME Subscriptions/Donations £1,741.00 Total £1,741.00 EXPENDITURE Printing (newsletter x 2) plus leaflets Envelopes and labels £622.00 £97.29 Meetings Room Hire £60.00 Bank Service Charges £4.25 Other Total £783.54 Surplus/(Deficit) for the Year £957.46 BALANCE SHEET as at 31st March 2025 Cash at bank £3,353.26 Cash in hand £105.00 Total Funds £3,458.26 Treasurer’s Report Throughout 2024 and into early 2025, there was an excellent response from residents to the treasurer’s comments about a need to be conscious that there had been a deficit in SCARA’s finances for the previous year. The limited extent of SCARA related activities, mainly arising from the small number of volunteers running the committee, has also resulted in a relatively modest level of expenditure, with the main expense continuing to be production of the twice yearly newsletter. The outcome of the above has been a surplus over the year of over £950, and an increase in total funds to almost £3,500, which is a healthy amount for the committee to offer financial support to community initiatives and to lead campaigns, when necessary, on behalf of the residents. The cost of many of the basics that are required for SCARA to operate have increased considerably, especially printing and stationery. It has there been decided to increase the annual subscription from £2.00 to £4.00, the first increase for at least two decades, and possibly nearer three. It is suggested that this is a very small rise in terms of money, and still offers the members excellent value. The committee is most grateful to each and every resident who has contributed to the running of the association, and all are asked to encourage neighbours to do the same. Many residents add a donation to their subscription, and it is heartening to note that the average payment per residence increased over the last year to £9.50. We hope that a similar level of generosity will be evident in the future – it does serve to demonstrate the work of the committee is appreciated. Sgd. David Irving – Treasurer SCARA Finance and Accounts
